The regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo continues to advance its security projects with the Russian Federation, focused mainly on the National Police and the Nicaraguan Army.

During the twelfth Conference of High Level Representatives for Security Affairs, held in Saint Petersburg, Russia, a Nicaraguan delegation, led by Laureano Ortega Murillo, the “favorite” son of the dictatorial couple, met with General Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Russian Security Council.

At the meeting, the two nations addressed “the issues and projects of bilateral cooperation between Russia and Nicaragua in matters of Security and reconfirmed mutual support in all fields,” according to information disclosed in the Sandinista propaganda media.

The Nicaraguans also met with officials from the Russian Ministry of the Interior, with the aim of “strengthening ties of collaboration” with the Police, and with representatives of the Russian Federal Security Service, to “strengthen cooperation with the Nicaraguan Army.” . Both entities are at the service and completely controlled by the Sandinista government and have been used as their main repressive arm against the population.

Likewise, Ortega’s representatives participated in the third multilateral meeting of the Working Group made up of Nicaragua, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia, where they reaffirmed their “common positions to make “against the hegemonism of the United States and its European allies.”

In addition to Ortega Murillo, the other Nicaraguans who participated in the conference for Security Affairs were the commissioner general Zhukov Serrano, deputy director of the National Police; the colonel Álvaro Martín Peña Núñez, second head of the Defense Information Directorate of the Nicaraguan Army, the deputy director general of the Nicaraguan Institute of Telecommunications and Postal Services (TELCOR), Celia Reyesand the Nicaraguan ambassador to Russia, Alba Azucena Torres.

Ortega Murillo, when reporting on the results of the meetings with the Russian envoy, indicated that they signed a “Cooperation Protocol” between the Nicaraguan Police and the Russian Ministry of the Interior, for the years 2024-2026″, without specifying what it contains. that protocol.
