The Ministry of Defense sent a letter stating that the act of imposition of degrees and delivery of sabers that was suspended on february 10 was due to the absence of the President, Luis Arce and not to internal pressure from the military itself; however, they ratified the complaints about the irregularities of the promotions.
“(The suspension) was due to the overloaded agenda of the President, who arrived on the appointed day on time, after participating in the commemorative acts for the anniversary of the department of Oruro, being unable to participate in the Act of Imposition of degrees “, points to one of the parts of the letter sent by the Ministry of Defense.
On February 10, in Government Palace the protocol act was suspended at the last minute, which already had the presence of the high military chiefs of the three forces and who were to receive the new ranks and command sabers. The act finally took place the next day in the hall of the Casa Grande del Pueblo.
The note also notes that the published news negatively affects the image of the Government central and of the Armed Forces; but he does not mention the observations made by the military chiefs, both active and passive.
These ratified the complaints with the documents they presented on the eight resolutions approved at the beginning of December to validate the promotions of high-ranking military chiefs who did not receive this benefit.
This Wednesday, the military chiefs they mentioned again the resolutions on their complaint and the questions they have; although Defense assures that the promotions arranged by the Government respected the military hierarchy.
