The Social Security Fund (CSS) announces the Public Tender for the “Hemodialysis Service and supply of Hemodialysis Kits; equipment, preventive maintenance and correction of equipment for existing and future units; as well as design, construction and authorization of CSS Hemodialysis Units, for a period of 60 months.
The public act will be held on March 25, 2022 in building 519 in Clayton, with an estimated price of 180 million balboas; Previously, an act of homologation will be held on February 24, 2022.
The corresponding contract is for: supply of Hemodialysis Kits, equipment, preventive maintenance and correction of equipment for the 18 existing in-hospital and out-of-hospital units nationwide for a period of 60 months and the construction, supply of Hemodialysis Kits, equipment, maintenance preventive and correction of equipment for 6 new Hemodialysis Units in Panama East, Panama North, Panama West, Colón, Chiriquí and Coclé.
The 18 existing Hemodialysis Units, added to the 6 new Hemodialysis Units, will total 270 hemodialysis machines that will have the capacity to serve more than 3,000 patients.
The institution registers 50 new cases per month of patients with chronic kidney failure, which makes it necessary to build 6 new units in five provinces to meet this demand. Patients must undergo 3 sessions per week.
Given the increasing incidence of cases, the CSS is establishing Cardiometabolic Clinics for the prevention and timely detection of kidney damage in hypertensive and diabetic patients. Likewise, the CSS is promoting the performance of transplants as a management alternative for patients with chronic renal failure.
This tender will satisfy the demand for hemodialysis services for the next 5 years and the hemodialysis infrastructure for the next decade.
