Falpo supports constitutional reform because he believes for the first time it will not be to benefit the current president

The Broad Front of Popular Struggle (Falpo) stated that he supports the Constitutional reform that the government promotes in order to achieve that through the Magna Carta to guarantee the independence of the Public Ministry because it trusts that for the first time in the country that initiative will not be used to benefit the current president as has been done in the past.

Gabriel Sánchez, Falpo’s national coordinator, spoke to the journalists together with a group of leaders from that organization who were stationed at the head of the National Congress to publicize the launch of its new campaign: “Protests with Proposals”.

“The first issue that we are supported is the modification of the Constitution in the direction of achieving the independence of the Public Ministry. Here in the National Congress) this modification is going to be made and then the Falpo supports that it is going to be done to achieve those purposes. For the first time since Trujillo, we believe that the Constitution should be modified without this modification going to benefit the current president,” argued Sánchez.

He specified that as some sectors have accused Falpo of not using correct methods of struggle, this organization wants to show that they will be protesting by always proposing concrete actions to seek solutions to the social problems that are generated.

As part of their agenda of activities on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the existence of Falpo, its national coordinator announced that they are going to join a campaign to recover what was stolen from previous government administrations and the current one.

Also, that tomorrow, at 3 pm, they will hold a community assembly in Salcedo and that on Thursday, at 10 am, they will participate, along with other social organizations, in a march against the abuses that, in their opinion, the Prosecutor’s Office commits. of Monte Plata, which supposedly, when passing sentences, does so benefiting those who have the most, harming those who do not have economic resources.

He assured that “the poor who do not have money are unfairly condemned and those who have money being criminals are released.”

Likewise, Sánchez informed that they will hold demonstrations against abuse, which they consider to be carried out by some institutions in Barahona and due to the deterioration of the sewage system in Bonao, among others.

He clarified that Falpo supports all protest struggles that seek to improve the quality of life of the Dominican people, considering that there will always be reasons to protest in a civic and democratic manner.
