Woman denounces having been raped in the Peru Libre premises during the second round of elections

A 23-year-old woman identified as “Rosa” denounced that she was raped in a local campaign of Free Perulocated in Lince, when she worked as a volunteer in the campaign of peter castle in the second round.

According to what she told Panorama, the man who raped her, in May 2021, was Germán Cruz, who also kept her kidnapped in the aforementioned place, after he pressured her to drink alcoholic beverages after a day of work the night before.

She explained that the nephew of President Pedro Castillo, Jaime Vásquez Castillo, who coordinated the campaign of the then presidential candidate in Lima, refused to help her and urged her to desist from the complaint.

In addition, the Sunday program had access to a series of audios in which José Montenegro, Peru Libre’s national coordinator, is heard boasting about meeting with Transport Minister Juan Silva and proposes as a “solution” for the victim to ask for an amount of money.

“I can tell him to support you, to give you 6 lucas for a deal, and we make the transaction, and that’s all there is to it”, He is heard saying in an audio from November 18.

“I said [a Germán Cruz] ‘how do you do those things’ [violar a una mujer] and he told me it was because of the drunkenness that day”adds in an audio of the same date.

The victim indicated that she will seek justice through the Public Ministry and that she is not afraid of the threats she has received from her attacker, nor of possible reprisals by the current government party.
