After two years, the experimental center of the Oilseed and Wheat Producers Association (Anapo) will once again be the setting for the Exposoya, which will take place on February 18 and 19. In this new version, five new varieties of soybeans will be launched, developed by the research centers.
The president of Anapo, Fidel Flores, stressed that this event “will have the participation of more than 100 exhibitors, including public and private research centers, business houses, suppliers of agricultural machinery, financial entities and other actors in the oil production chain, who will show their technologies, products and services to the farmer”.

More than 5,000 producers are expected to attend and for them five new varieties of soybeans will be presented.
“They have been developed by public and private research centers. Some with characteristics of tolerance to drought, which constitutes an important technological contribution to reduce the risks of productive and economic losses due to adverse weather conditions,” Flores said.
Through a publication, Anapo explained that with the drought the average soybean yield reaches two tons per hectare. But biotechnology, such as drought-resistant HB4 soybeans, could reach 2.7 tons per hectare, increasing production without the need to expand the agricultural frontier.
The losses caused by this weather phenomenon amount to 500 thousand tons and at least 200 million dollars.
At least 5,000 producers from the main production areas are expected to attend, including Pailón, Cuatro Cañadas, San Julián, El Puente, Guarayos, San Pedro, Okinawa, San Pedro and other production areas.
The Experimental Center is located in the town of 26 de Agosto, in the municipality of Cuatro Cañadas, in Santa Cruz.
