Covid-19: six regions decreased their new cases in the last week and increases are registered in Ñuble, Maule and La Araucanía

The Ministry of Health reported 35,038 new cases of Covid-19, of which 26% are diagnosed by antigen tests, 40% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 19% of those reported are asymptomatic.

“Nationwide, new confirmed cases from the last 7 days vary by 6% from the previous 7 days and new cases from the last 14 days vary by 93% from the previous 14 days. As in the last few days, we can observe a decrease in the percentage of growth compared to the same day of the previous week, where on Sunday, February 6, we reported 42% and 194% for the previous 7 and 14 days, respectively,” he indicated. the Minister of Health Enrique Paris.

Six regions decreased their new confirmed cases in the last 7 days and two, the cases of the last 14 days. The regions with the highest increase in the last 7 days are: Ñuble, Los Ríos, Maule and La Araucanía.

In addition, a total of 123,943 tests were reported, including PCR and antigen, with a PCR positivity of 26.53%. The Metropolitan region had a positivity of 24.25%

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 2,621,427. Of that total, 139,623 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 2,434,174.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 94 deaths from causes associated with the disease. The total number of deceased amounts to 40,558 in the country.

To date, 803 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 650 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 204 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 123,943 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 31,535,397 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 26.53% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 24.25%.

Regarding the Sanitary Residences, we have 45 accommodation facilities, with a total of 4,305 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 54%, leaving a total of 1,497 beds available for use.
