The suspended regional counselor Tomás Ayñayanque will be investigated at liberty after the Preparatory Investigation Court for Corruption of Officials during the vacation period in the Superior Court of Justice of Arequipa did not admit the request for preventive detention by the Public Ministry.
Ayñayanque, who is accused of being part of the criminal organization Los Hijos del Cóndor led by Elmer Cáceres Llica, was accused of the crimes of own and improper passive bribery to favor the former regional governor.
Judge José Ríos Núñez affirmed that there are serious and well-founded indications; however, Wuile Ayñayanque has family, work and home roots, for which he considered that there is no danger of escape; setting a security of 50 thousand soles that he must pay within 48 hours.
In addition, it was established that the person under investigation may not change his address without authorization from the court, he will have to justify his activities every 15 days, attend summonses from the Public Prosecutor’s Office during the course of the investigations, and is prevented from communicating with those allegedly involved in this process.
