Coronavirus in Uruguay: 15 deaths, 6,814 new cases and 166 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Saturday 6,814 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 18,105 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 37.6%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (antigen and PCR).

What’s more, there were 15 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 61 and 94 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 6,744 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 53,066 active cases across the country and 166 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 733 correspond to the health personnel.

Of the 6,814 new cases, 3,402 were from Montevideo, 964 from Canelones, 261 from Colonia, 251 from Maldonado, 218 from San José, 195 from Paysandú, 189 from Florida, 181 from Durazno, 180 from Cerro Largo, 163 from Tacuarembo, 130 from Rocha, 111 from Rivera, 111 from Soriano, 108 from Salto, 83 from Lavalleja, 73 from Treinta y Tres, 68 from Flores, 64 from Río Negro and 62 from Artigas.

All departments report infected people this Saturday, and Montevideo leads the active list with 29,915. follow him cannelloni (7,913), Maldonado (2.101) and Saint Joseph (1824), among others.

For the report of the day, the Ministry of Public Health reported that removed 17 cases from the active list.
