The Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca will choose its traditional authorities tomorrow

This Sunday, February 13, the elections will be held in the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca, in which 160,968 voters will be able to choose their traditional authorities.

According to official figures issued by the National Directorate of Electoral Organization of the Electoral Tribunal, of this figure, 78,491 are women and 82,477 are men.

A general chief, three regional chiefs, nine local chiefs and 384 delegates to the General Congress will be elected; of these, in compliance with gender parity, 192 must be women and 192 men.

Candidates for these positions have been in the three regions: 16 candidates for chief general, 28 for the Regional Congress (6 in Ñö Kribo, 9 in Kädriri and 13 in Nidrini) and 74 for the Local Congress (5 in Jirondai, 12 in Besikó, 7 in Mironó, 12 in Nole Duima, 15 in Müna, 9 in Kankintú, 6 in Kusapín, 5 in Santa Catalina and 3 in Ñürüm).

The Electoral Court confirmed that in this electoral process, 337 voting centers with 493 polling stations have been set up, which will open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, in the three county electoral regions.
