After a period estimated at about 20 days, The Departmental Emergency Coordination Center (Cecoed) that operates in Cerro Largo will receive a donation of two fully equipped ambulances, awarded by the Fundación Mano a Mano Internacionalwhose headquarters are in the United States.
Lurymar Di Marco, general coordinator of the foundation that is chaired by Jorge Cordero and is based in Roselle Park, New Jerseyexpressed to The Observer his satisfaction with the speed with which the donation was resolved.
On purpose, pointed out as a key factor for the success of the management having carried out the same with a Cecoed“which is an autonomous entity”, which eliminates existing bureaucratic procedures in other instances of making donations.
“Uruguay is not a country with needs for medical supplies, but I know its reality, I am Uruguayan, I am from Minas Gerais and I know that there are certain parts of the country where there are strong needs and for me, from my role as general coordinator of the foundation, it is a great joy to be able to help”, he expressed.
“The handling was extremely fast.there was no obstacle, the Municipality of Cerro Largo immediately accepted the donation”, he added.
The donation consists of two fully equipped vehicles, they are ambulances that even carry rescue stretchers, wheelchairs, walkers and crutchesto mention a few examples.
“We had already delivered an ambulance to Cecoed de Florida, now we made this donation and the next objective is to do it with Lavalleja, I am very interested in helping my countryDiMarco said.
The negotiations are carried out in Uruguay through a representative, Sandra Carrecelas, proceeding as happens with the adjudications that the Mano a Mano Foundation carries out in the different countries.
The arrival date of the ambulances depends on the logistics that are being coordinated with the shipping company that will transfer them once both units are ready, since it is in the stage of complete conditioning of the vehicles and their equipment.
