In the Junín region, only 27.20% of people over 18 years of age have received the booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, reported the , Luis Zúñiga Villacresis. Until yesterday, there were some 358 thousand 600 people who already had the third dose, but 959 thousand 647 people do not go to the vaccination centers for their third dose, lamented the official.

The official recalled that more than a year ago, when vaccination had just begun, for the first risk groups, people formed long queues and even woke up at the vaccination centers to receive the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, but now he regrets the laziness in going for his protection.

He recalled that with vaccinated people, the virus was stopped and when they became infected, they had a mild to moderate illness and hospitalizations and deaths from the first and second waves were avoided. Now to continue like this, the reinforcement with the third dose is necessary.

Luis Zúñiga called on citizens to protect themselves with the vaccine that is free and accessible at vaccination centers throughout the region.

Likewise, he reiterated that people should not make a distinction between one vaccine and another, since they are all good and have been scientifically proven. In the Junín region, 3 vaccines have been applied, Sinopharm, which is based on attenuated viruses, in addition to Pfizer and Astra Zéneca, which are of the messenger RNA type.

It is worth mentioning that since January 31, people over 40 years of age cannot enter public places if they do not show their vaccination card with the 3 doses of the vaccine.
