Film Industry invested more than $8 million in Panama during 2021

Panama managed to attract investments related to the film industry during 2021, for $8.5 million, revealed the director of the Film Commission of Panama (CFP), of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI), Essie Mastellari.

Mastellari added that the film productions came from countries such as Mexico, the United States, Germany, Spain, France, Norway, Russia, Denmark and that these were framed in various categories such as: documentaries, reality television programs, TV commercials and reports.

“Panama is characterized by providing international productions with a single window for the processing of location, immigration and customs permits; in the same way, Mastellari said, we are a safe country, we use the dollar as local currency, we have local production houses with a lot of experience, diversity of locations and 25% economic return on investments greater than 500,000 dollars”, he specified.

He stressed that the commission will resume face-to-face participation in the most important festivals, such as Cannes and SXSW in Austin, Texas.

He announced that, soon, he will make a familiarization trip, for which they will invite potential producers and directors who are looking for destinations for future projects.

Our country continues to be a focus of interest for film shoots, among other audiovisual productions.
