They seek to achieve long-term supply at the Hospital “Dr. Gustavo Nelson Collado”

To guarantee the supply of medicines and supplies for up to six months, a multidisciplinary team, sent by the General Directorate, visits the “Dr. Gustavo Nelson Collado” from Chitré.

The national executive director of Health Benefit Services, Dr. Yelky Gill, who heads the team, set up technical work groups at this hospital to address these issues.

Dr. Gill inspected different areas of the hospital to review the processes for purchasing medicines and supplies, as she has done in different executing units in the country.

“We are guaranteeing the provision of supplies and medicines for six months, until January 2024,” he said.

On the other hand, Dr. Gill reported that this year the Hospital “Dr. Gustavo Nelson Collado” could become the first public health facility in the country to achieve international certification.

“Achieving accreditation this year is a great achievement, not only for the Social Security Fund, it would be the first public hospital with this accreditation,” he stressed.

This hospital not only treats patients from Herrera, it also receives from Los Santos, Veraguas and Panama West.
