AN-2020 delays the discussion of the bill of agricultural workers

During an information point, AN deputy Ezequiel Pérez Roa (AD – Táchira) asked the plenary to urge the National Electoral Council (CNE) to activate registration offices and update data in the municipalities and parishes of the country to facilitate the procedure for those who, due to cost issues, do not have a way to travel

The 2020 National Assembly (AN) delays the discussion and approval of the special bill for agricultural workers. After seven months since the norm was discussed for the first time, Parliament deferred its discussion to “improve” the articles that make up the instrument.

In the ordinary session of this July 20, the parliamentarians barely approved 11 articles of the project in the second discussion. The norm that, supposedly, seeks to vindicate agriculture and the social process of work as a fundamental element for the development of the nation, is made up of five chapters and 18 titles.

It was presented to the plenary for the first time in November 2022. It recognizes the agricultural workers who provide a personal service in the production units in this area, excluding the bosses, owners and those assigned to lots of land where they work.

Its objective is to regulate the existing relationship between the workers who provide a personal service in the agricultural production unit and the employers.

Information points in the AN

During an information point, the deputy Ezequiel Pérez Roa (AD – Táchira) asked the plenary to urge the National Electoral Council (CNE) to activate registration and data updating offices in the municipalities and parishes of the country to facilitate the procedure for those who, due to cost issues, do not have a way to travel.

The parliamentarian recognized the “effort” of the right entity to leave an office in each state capital, but pointed out that this is still insufficient to guarantee their right to people who live in areas of difficult access.

The Parliament approved extending to the Special Commission that Investigates the Statements of Donald Trump Against Venezuela the period to continue these investigations. The request was made by the first vice president of the AN, deputy Pedro Infante.

Infante pointed out that the investigation showed that “imperialism has established mechanisms for the doctrine of our people.” He asserted that opposition leaders in recent years have committed crimes such as treason, usurpation of functions, organized crime, criminal association among others.

He pointed to former deputy Juan Guaidó; the national leader of Vente Venezuela, María Corina Machado; former congressman Henri Ramos Allup; the leader of Primero Justicia (PJ) Henrique Capriles among others. As for foreign leaders, he reiterated that Donald Trump and part of his executive team are responsible for committing actions against Venezuela.
