“We claim this space to speak the truths, always on our feet, in terms of equality as sovereign countries,” said the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on Monday, Delcy Rodriguez, in the Summit of the Peoples that takes place in Belgium, in parallel to the III meeting between the European Union (EU) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).
“Today we tell Europe that there are paths for the Revolution, for friendship, but always upholding the historical dignity of our peoples,” he said in his brief speech, during the first day of the People’s Summit in Brussels, organized by European and Latin American left-wing movements and representatives, with the participation of various heads of state and Latin American figures from progressive governments.
By expressing, on behalf of the President Nicolas Maduro Moros, the message of joy and optimism, said that Venezuelans defend their freedom and dignity above any multiform aggression against the Homeland, as has happened in recent years.
He recalled that Bolívar said in 1818 that the people of Venezuela raise their voices and are willing to bury themselves in the midst of the ruins, if Spain and Europe insist on bending over. But today the Bolivarian Republic, which inherited the anti-imperialist struggles of El Libertador, is not bent over, but standing up and proud of his independence legacy.
He ratified that in recent times, both Europe and the United States (USA). They tried all kinds of unprecedented criminal and illegal aggression, with blackmail against the people, they even attempted assassination with explosive drones, paramilitary mercenary incursions were attempted with the aim of seizing national power by force. But they could not.
He called for fascist conduct and the advance of neo-fascism from Europe and the US against the Bolivarian Revolution and the people, but the heroic resistance of the sons of Bolívar stopped these attacks, with anti-imperialist resistance and in defense of self-determination and sovereignty.

“I bring this message of how Venezuelans are going to defend our freedom and dignity, to defend the legacy of our father Liberator, Simón Bolívar,” he reiterated.
Rodríguez stated that “Venezuela raises its voice, the Venezuelan people are on their feet,” while those attending the meeting shouted the slogan “Alert, alert, the sword that walks through Latin America.”
The senior Venezuelan official said that these expressions are support for the Bolivarian Revolution due to the resistance shown in the face of financial and political aggression. She recalled that European countries allied to US imperial interests even supported and recognized a self-proclaimed man who was never measured at the ballot box, treated him as “president” and violated all laws.
“And they supported that plan conceived by Trump to rob the Venezuelan people, their assets abroad, to freeze their resources… Trump confessed that he was about to rob Venezuela!”, he claimed.
And regarding the illegal sanctions from Europe, he recalled that for centuries those empires imposed slavery, and finally the European genocide ended with slaves and indigenous people. Now, the peoples of Europe are sheltered by the economic crisis, the lack of employment for millions of young people in a conflict that originated from disrespect for international law and under the danger of living in a geopolitical situation that even has dimensions of nuclear risk. .
Finally, Delcy Rodríguez assured that fascism will not pass in Venezuela, and extended President Maduro’s greetings to the peoples who fight for their rights in the old continent.
