In statements to the press, Lacalle announced that next Tuesday, February 15, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Azucena Arbeleche, will present the economic results related to job creation, lower unemployment, increased investment and decreased deficit. “This suggests that we can have a 2022 of accomplishments and pushes”.
Lacalle also assured that “finally this is the year of the end of the pandemic”, and for this reason he asked his ministers that priorities be focused on people.
In this regard, the president said that the government is working on issues related to foreign relations, social development, education, and industry where there has been a rebound based on stimuli and efforts.
“We are with good international prices and good production in almost all subsectors. We are moderately optimistic, but the car has to be pushed, “said the president.
However, he acknowledged that the Ministers of Tourism and Labor have told him that some sectors “have not yet recovered from the crisis”, for which specific measures linked to the tourism sector are being sought.
Solidarity days
Regarding the solidarity wages, an initiative to promote employment and that started from a group of mayors, he said that he has communicated to the Congress of Mayors that the government is willing to “make an effort with respect to employer contributions” and the governments departmental, if they deem it necessary, they can continue with the plan taking charge of the salaries.
