The deputy of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Iris Varela, repudiated the interference of the European Parliament, instigated by the father of the opposition leader Leopoldo López, Leopoldo López Gil, so that from that platform statements are being made against Venezuela and get involved in the internal politics of the country.
The statement was issued by the parliamentarian during the first edition of her radio program La Fosforito en radio, broadcast by a station in the state of Cojedes.
Varela recalled that López’s father, who is now a Spanish citizen, was president of Fundayacucho and is a member of the European Parliament.
“A character who left here a billionaire, stealing, and that served as a personal fund to give his children an education in European universities paid for with money from the Venezuelan State,” he denounced.
Likewise, he stressed that Venezuela is a sovereign country and that it is respected, stressing that the Venezuelans who today support the revolutionary process are willing to be respected.
“Don’t dress, you won’t go, here in Venezuela they won’t poke their noses in, 200 years ago we freed ourselves from the Spanish yoke,” Varela said.
They despise each other. During the program, Varela affirmed that the egos and rivalries between the sectors that make up the political opposition are evident and in this regard he referred to an episode that clearly alluded to María Corina Machado.
“The lady with airs of grandeur, who refused to shake hands with one of her colleagues for the official photo; I would say that they know each other so much that they despise each other. It is a group that is supposed to have a common objective; but they do not tolerate each other because they know each other in their miseries, they know how to despise each other. What will be left for the Venezuelan people? ”, she reflected.
The deputy also criticized the premise of the Venezuelan right that says: “If I am not the captain of the ship, let it sink”, which, in her opinion, is a despicable indication, “because the opposition has always sought destruction of the country, they are happy if they are in power”.
