The last week of winter holidays in the department of Santa Cruz began with a slight drop in temperaturesas had been anticipated in the last report of the Agro-productive Information System (SIA) of the Santa Cruz Governor’s Office.

Although southerly winds accompanied by rain are expected in the first days of the week, the forecasts indicate a weather improvement towards the middle of the week.

Julio César Claure, head of the SIA, informed that a return of the winds to the north is expected, which will result in clear skies and no chance of rain. In addition, temperatures are expected to rise as the days progress.

Regarding the estimated temperatures for the Santa Cruz Valleys, it is expected that the minimum will oscillate around 14°C and the maximum will reach 26°C. For the Chiquitania area, minimums of 15°C and maximums of 31°C are forecast, while for the rest of the provinces, minimums of 16°C and maximums of 30°C.

For its part, AccuWeather forecasts for the capital of Santa Cruz, for Tuesday, a maximum of 17 degrees and a minimum of 14, while for Wednesday, a maximum of 22 degrees and a minimum of 13. As of Wednesday the high temperatures will return (up to 33 degrees for Sunday).

Initially, it was planned that the schoolchildren would return to classes this Monday, July 17, after a two-week pedagogical break. However, due to the cold and the outbreak of some respiratory diseases, the national authorities decided postpone back to school for next Monday, July 24.
