Five security guards from the Parque Costazul shopping center in Margarita attacked two children, according to a viral video on social networks. The Prosecutor’s Office announced that these five employees were arrested and are awaiting the accusation by the Public Ministry, while the establishment disassociated itself from the incident.
The prosecutor appointed by the already extinct constituent assembly, Tarek William Saab, reported on their social networks on the afternoon of Sunday, July 16, that five people were arrested who allegedly assaulted two minors in a shopping center in the state of Nueva Esparta. The subjects, apparently, worked in the establishment as part of its security.
According to Saab, these people “coerced, mistreated, physically and psychologically denigrated two children (2) who were in the facilities of said commercial area”, for which they await accusations by the Public Ministry in preventive detention.

The case referred to by Saab in Margarita took place at the Parque Costazul Shopping Center. A video that went viral on social networks on Saturday the 15th shows mall officials mistreating minors, presumably in a street situation (since one of them does not have shoes in the audiovisual material), and hitting them with a chair while one of them is branded “rude” after being held tightly by the head while other people were watching.

Once these attacks by the mall security guards became known, the Costazul Park board of directors issued a statement in which it “forcefully” rejects the conduct of the security employees and warns that they acted “voluntarily”, disassociating themselves that way of what happened.
“The event that is being echoed on social networks, occurred at our facilities and executed by some of our employees, was triggered on their own free will and personal exercise, and they were removed from their position for being against the guidelines of the corporation. and procedures related to security issues,” the text states.
In addition, this establishment in Margarita emphasizes that they do not “commit” to this type of actions that “are contrary to values and good customs”, while reiterating their commitment to the positive and the care of minors.
The aggression against the children occurred the day before Children’s Day. The Parque Costazul shopping center was criticized for having disabled comments on that post on Instagram and for having carried out activities related to Children’s Day.
