Its main objective is to facilitate participation in the programs and provide financial support during this process. Access to the Protection Bonus is granted automatically to those who comply with the requirements of eligibility and decide to participate in the Subsystem of Social Protection, Securities and Opportunities.
This direct cash aid is delivered in 24 monthly payments over two years. The amount of the benefit varies according to the period of execution of the psychosocial support and is divided into tranches. For the year 2023, the values of the aid of the Protection Bonus are as follows: during the first 6 months, the bonus amounts to $21,823.
From month 7 to month 12, the amount is $16,608. From month 13 to month 18, the value is $11,419. And finally, from month 19 to 24, the Protection Bonus corresponds to $16,828, the latter amount being equivalent to the SUF amount. The Social Protection, Security and Opportunities Subsystem’s fundamental purpose is to help individuals and families overcome extreme poverty in a sustainable manner.
In addition, it seeks to improve their living conditions through the development of skills that allow them to generate independent income through work.
