The presidential candidate for the Popular Party (PP), Martín Torrijos Espino, assured that his national electoral offer is based on principles and values, after recalling that an activist from this group has never been accused or involved in acts of corruption.

In this context, he stated that “we are going to win the elections on May 5, 2024 with a PP without corruption [en su participación con distintos gobiernos] which says a lot about its members [ética y moral]. Together we will order the house and we will face new challenges such as the issue of the Social Security Fund (CSS) and a high external debt”, said the former president of the Republic in a meeting with PP leaders.

“The task will not be easy and it is a hard battle; Panamanians demand decency and democracy. Without stealing, we will build a powerful social alliance, we will talk with different political currents that seek the common good instead of rummaging economically; the country is above any personal interest, ”she stressed.

He added that those who want to join this proposal have to share the vision of fighting corruption and restoring confidence and hope to the Panamanian people. In this sense, he highlighted that organizations, unions, groups and associations are added every day.

Torrijos Espino reiterated that it is very important to include young people and redouble the participation of women in the campaign because, “it is time to build a new institutional framework for the country, Panamanians deserve to live with equal opportunities; It is urgent to tidy up the house.”

For its part, the PP leadership reiterated its strong support for the former President of the Republic and ratified its commitment to support his presidential candidacy next Sunday at his Extraordinary National Congress of election.
