This Wednesday, July 12, the Government of Spain granted nationality to seven more Nicaraguans who were declared stateless by the administration of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo in February 2023.
The notification was made public through the State official newsletter (BOE). In the list of the new nationalized stands out Lucia Pineda Ubaujournalist and director of 100% Noticias; Pedro Salvador Vasquez, former employee of the former presidential candidate Cristiana Chamorro; and the lawyer Roger Reyes.
Added to the list Yaser Muhamar Vado Gonzálezmember of the youth of the Nicaraguan Democratic Union (Unamos) and former politicians Roberto José Sosa Téllez, Rodolfo Antonio Rojas Arburola and Kevin Roberto Solís.

The granting of nationality to citizens who were denationalized by Ortega in February 2023 is done by Nature letter, an exceptional and much faster procedure, which prevents them from continuing to be stateless for a long time.
Spain was the first country in the international community to offer to grant nationality to the 222 Nicaraguans who were exiled on February 9. The same offer was extended on February 15 when the regime declared another group of 94 opponents stateless.
In this way, there are already 90 Nicaraguans that the government of Pedro Sánchez nationalizes. Previously, Spain had offered Spanish nationality to the more than 300 stateless persons.
