39,600 doses of bivalent vaccines arrive in Panama

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) through the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) reports the arrival of 39,600 doses of bivalent vaccines, which will reinforce the National Vaccination Program for the population, 19,000 doses for children 5 to 12 years of age and 21,600 for the population 12 years and older, according to Itzel S. de Hewitt, national coordinator of the (PAI).

Hewitt indicated that the Ministry of Health and the Social Security Fund are applying from Monday to Friday in extended hours and on weekends in Shopping Centers, Health Regions at the national level all the offer of the National Plan of the Vaccination Scheme.

“All the deaths are from unvaccinated people, it is not the virus that is stronger, nor is its resistance mutating, but it is the population that should be vaccinated, also parents take their children to the conferences, attend the vaccination posts” emphasized Hewitt.

The MINSA reiterates to the population that, due to the rainy season, respiratory viruses are on the prowl and it is recommended that the population go to health centers, sub-centers, and Police Centers throughout the country. Vaccines save lives and are free.
