Meteorology alerts heat wave for the central zone: up to 38 degrees

The Chilean Meteorological Directorate announced that there will be a heat wave for this Saturday, February 12, in four regions of the country.

According to the entity, temperatures are expected to range between 34 and 38 degrees, with dorsal synoptic condition in height.

In the Maule, Ñuble and La Araucanía regions, it is expected that in the sectors of the central valley and the foothills, thermometers will show between 34 and 36°C.

On the other hand, for the Bío Bío region, a heat wave between 36 and 38 degrees is forecast in the valley and foothills.

For the northern zone, the Meteorological Directorate warned that there is a probability of electrical storms for the afternoon of February 12 until the night of Tuesday the 15th of the same month.

The mountain range of the Arica and Parinacota area will be affected by this forecast.

Wind in Juan Fernández and Magallanes

Finally, the probability of normal to moderate winds was reported in the Juan Fernández Archipelago and the Magallanes region.

In the group of islands, the phenomenon began on the afternoon of Thursday, February 10, and is expected to last until this Saturday.

In the southern part of the country, the affected sectors will be the Cordillera Austral Sur, Insular Sur and Pampa Patagónica. It is estimated that the winds will begin in the early hours of Saturday, February 12, and end at night on the same day.
