Illegal mining camp dismantled in Amazonas

Officials of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) dismantled this Thursday a new camp dedicated to illegal mining in the state of Amazonas.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, the operational strategic commander (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Lárez, indicated that members of the Rapid Response Unit (Urra) combat of the Integral Defense Operational Zone (Zodi) participated in this operation ) from Zulia state.

During the operation, where makeshift and useless polluting homes were dismantled; 40 power plants were seized; 18 combustion engines; 12 suction pumps and 12,000 meters of high pressure hose.

In addition, other types of materials used for environmental destruction were seized.

Similarly, he stressed that the FANB continues its deployment in the entity in response to what was instructed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.

As part of Operation Autana 2023, the FANB dismantled and destroyed two more camps in the “La 40” sector in the Yapacana National Park in Amazonas.

URRAS officials from Trujillo, Barinas, Carabobo and Portuguesa states participated in this operation.

In this regard, Hernández Lárez stated that these structures were used as shelter structures and logistical support for groups that predator the environment that carry out illegal mining activities.

“Venezuela is a territory of Peace, the FANB in ​​its operational deployment will not allow the provision of any type of structure or logistic camp or shelter for organized crime. All structured installations and invasions in natural parks will be dismantled, as they are polluting factors for the biome and ecosystems protected by the State”, stressed Hernández Lárez.

More than 4,000 people evacuated in Amazonas park

On the other hand, he indicated that – to date – more than four thousand people have been evacuated voluntarily from the Yapacana National Park, in the state of Amazonas.

It should be remembered that the voluntary evacuations started last weekend, with 280 people.

This, in an effort to protect and preserve the environment.

On repeated occasions, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, He has highlighted the struggle of FANB officials in the south of the country to eradicate illegal mining.
