Young Venezuelan Parliamentarians attend a training session

Around 600 young people, councilors, legislators and regional and municipal commissions participate in the training session of the Network of Young Parliamentarians of Venezuela, which takes place this Friday.

During the day they will present a presentation on Constitutional Law and Legislative Power, by deputy Hernán Escarrá, reports Prensa Latina.

The training day has the purpose of promoting street parliamentarianism and deepening the links between the community and the structures of popular power.

On Thursday, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, installed the Network of Young Parliamentarians of Venezuelawhose mission is to promote and strengthen the development of legislative work agendas.

During his speech, the parliamentarian indicated that the network is fundamental and important because “there is no way to think about the future if we do not work with those who build that future, the rest is empty,” he said.

Rodríguez called the young people to take to the streets, to reach each house, community to reorganize and build their rights, which were denied to millions of Venezuelans for centuries.

In this sense, he explained that “Chávez and Maduro cannot be the mayors of the 335 municipalities that Venezuela has. You have to have commissions to solve the problems of the communities.”

Therefore, -he said- “we go to each of these spaces not as representatives, but as spokespersons for the Venezuela of the future and owners of the future.”

For his part, Deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra, declared that the network will be a space to make visible the excluded from all levels.

“The deputies must be in our state, making the laws and the budget known to continue building and strengthening the power that Chávez left us,” he emphasized.

Working groups for young parliamentarians

In accordance with National Assembly informationin the activity this Friday, in Parque Central, the 10 working groups will collect the proposals of the participating youth population.

The topic of discussion ranges from the action agenda, social street parliamentarianism and People’s Power, social comptrollership, the fight against corruption, among others.

88 AN deputies, 60 regional legislators, 412 councilors and 16 community parliamentarians, in addition to regional and municipal commissioners, participate in the activity.

The participants are young people between 21 and 35 years old who assumed responsibilities as parliamentarians in the communes, in the Legislative Power and in the municipal councils.
