Lula questions Ancelotti as the future coach of Brazil

The President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, questioned this Thursday the choice of the Italian Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, as future coach of Brazil and declared himself a “fan” of the newly named Fernando Diniz.

“He was never the coach of Italy. Why doesn’t he solve the problem of Italy, who didn’t even go to play the last World Cup?” he wondered. Lula about ancelotti during an interview on the SBT channel, which advanced some excerpts before its broadcast.

At the same time, Lula defended “the creativity and personality” of Diniz, current Fluminense coach and interim coach, and he trusted that “he will make the most of” the opportunity he has at the helm of Canarinha, despite what he considers a lack of “quality” in current Brazilian football. “The problem is not Diniz; the problem is that we don’t have the quality of players that we had in other times”, pointed out the president.

The president of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), Ednaldo Rodrigues, He assured on Wednesday at a press conference that Ancelotti will assume command in mid-2024, but did not clarify whether the Italian, with a contract at Real Madrid until June 30 of next year, has already signed a pre-agreement.
