The bench of Together for Peru spoke out against the recent prediction of law approved by the Commission of Constitution of the Congress which aims to eliminate confidence vote after the presentation of a new Council of Ministers. The parliamentary group pointed out that, by promoting this measure, Democracy is being attacked and the decisions of the people.
“Once again the vacant right ignores the popular will and attempts against democracy. We need a political class that is responsible and committed to solving the country’s problems”, can be read in the statement that the bench shared through its social networks.
Likewise, the group remarked that they would be personal interests that turn their backs on the needs of the majority of citizens.
“All these attacks respond solely to personal interests and they do not take into account the needs of the great majorities that demand a responsible political class committed to solving the country’s problems”, the document continues.
Finally, they called on citizens to be vigilant and condemned political forces using power on demand for personal interests.
“We alert the population about the new attack by political forces seeking to seize power for which they were not elected. We congressmen and women must respect democratic institutions and carry out our work of legislating in favor of citizenship,” the statement concludes.
