“The aircraft was piloted by Colonel Paulino José Millán Sabino and Lieutenant Colonel Sergio Luis Hernández Gómez; both crew members managing to eject, however, unfortunately Col. Paulino José Millán Sabino died when he fell to the ground,” the statement said.

“I am sorry to inform you that during the practice maneuvers for the commemorative acts of our independence, an aircraft from our Bolivarian Military Aviation crashed to the ground, causing the physical loss of the distinguished pilot Col. Paulino José Millán Sabino, my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and our FANB”, said the Head of State on the social network.

This Sunday on social networks, a video was released in which it can be seen that the aircraft, when passing through a flock of birds, suffered a malfunction in the engine system, which caused it to fall to the ground and “not due to mechanical damage or human errors,” clarified the Ministry of the Interior, Justice and Peace in a message posted on his Twitter account along with the audiovisual material.
