This Friday, February 11, the Ministry of Health of the Nation reported 16,503 new cases of coronavirus in all the countryone of the lowest daily numbers of infections in the last four weeks.
With this new update, Argentina goes on to accumulate 8,716,940 infections of coronavirus since the pandemic spread across the nationalmost two years ago. This would be the eleventh cumulative rate of the illness highest on the planet.
Of the 16 thousand cases of coronavirus reported today, 6,764 correspond to the Province of Buenos Aires, 2,176 to Córdoba, 1,467 to the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and 1,163 to the province of Santa Fe, the four jurisdictions with the highest incidence of the virus.
Meanwhile, in the rest of the country, the daily cases of the disease did not exceed the 1,000 barrier. On the list they continue: the province of Mendoza (526), Formosa (494), Corrientes (474), La Rioja (438), Entre Ríos (359), Tucumán (359), Misiones (300), La Pampa (272) , Chaco (252) and Salta (219).
Likewise, in the provinces of San Juan (181), Neuquén (170), Río Negro (140), San Luis (139), Chubut (123), Santa Cruz (114), Catamarca (106), Tierra del Fuego (106 ), Jujuy (101) and Santiago del Estero (60), less than 200 daily cases were registered.
In the case of daily deaths, the Health portfolio confirmed some 152 deaths associated with the illness viral, 112 deaths compared to yesterday. Now, the COVID mortality rate in Argentina is 123,859 victims, the thirteenth highest on the planet.
Nowadays, there are 225,734 active cases of coronavirus in all the country, of which 2,107 are admitted to Intensive Care Units (ICU). The ICU hospitalization rate at the national level is 46.1% and 44.4% in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires.
Strategic Vaccination Plan
In its latest update, the Nation’s Public Vaccination Monitor reported that, until the 5:00 p.m. cutoff, a total of 90,476,757 vaccines had been applied against coronavirus329,811 doses more than yesterday.
Since the public and free immunization campaign began in the country on December 29, 2020, some 39,991,849 people have received a dose of the vaccines, 35,643,206 people have completed the scheme and 11,801,659 people have already been vaccinated with the third booster dose.
