Miss Beni, Maria Estefany Rivero Giesse, is the new Miss Bolivia Universe 2023 and will represent the country in the Miss Universe pageant, to be held in December in El Salvador.
María Estefany is 26 years old, andI am an architect and interior decorator. She is 1.76 meters tall and for years she has been working with Fundación Armonía to preserve the Barba Azul macaw, which is endemic to Bolivia and is in danger of extinction.
To prevent these birds from being hunted, it is that together with Benian institutions, such as the Indigenous Council, artisans are being taught to make artificial feathers to replace the originals.
“This is the project that Estefany Rivero is working on and that she has presented at Miss Bolivia, so that it is known and receives support from other institutions. Miss Beni and Fundación Armonía believe that if all folkloric groups agree to wear headdresses with alternative feathers, the number of losses of the Blue-throated Macaw will be lowered and its population will grow”, explained Peredo.
The grand final of Miss Bolivia took place on the night of this Saturday, July 1, in the Sirionó hall of the Fexpocruz.
The jury of the event, organized by Promociones Gloria, chose 9 semifinalists and to them was added one more chosen by the public through social networks.
The group was then narrowed down to five finalists., from where the national delegates such as Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Grand International and Miss International were chosen. The viceroy is Miss Litoral, Selva Jiménez.
