the opponent Brenda Lee Baldelomar, Originally from Chinandega, she has been a political prisoner of the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo for 71 days, as reported by her son Hants Baldelomar, through his Facebook account.
«—My mother—is illegally detained, we demand her immediate release. Neither Forgiveness, nor Forgetfulness”, demanded the son of the political real, who recently told Article 66 that on June 9 her mother was transferred to the Women’s Penitentiary System, known as La Esperanza, in Tipitapa.

He also pointed out that the Police have denied information about the situation that Brenda Baldelomar is going through and that they do not allow her visits. «We are not told anything; We believed that she was still in District 3 but we learned, from other sources, that she is already in La Esperanza ».
On April 17, the Police detained the 48-year-old citizen in one of the streets of the Roberto González neighborhood, in the western Nicaraguan city. Days later, the Nicaraguan court filed an accusation against her.
According to the information published in the Nicarao System, the case, with number 007008-0RM4-2023-PN, has been filed since April 24, in the Fourth Criminal Court of Managua, in charge of Judge Ana Maria Vado Miranda.
As has happened with other political cases, the alleged crime of which Baldelomar is accused is not detailed, it only states that the victim is “Nicaraguan society and the State of the Republic of Nicaragua.”

This means of communication tried to contact Baldelomar’s family to find out if they had already been able to see her, however contact could not be established. The last thing that was known is that the opponent was in poor health, suffering from bleeding and receiving no medical attention.
According to the Mechanism for the Recognition of Political Prisoners of Nicaragua, the Justice of Ortega maintains 64 opponents held captive in the different prisons of the country.
