For this June, the Caracas Metro installs turnstiles “made in Iran” in the stations

The turnstiles of Iran for the Caracas Metro have been installed gradually and independently since the end of 2022, when the Metrocomunidad account warned about this fact

This Sunday, June 25, the Caracas Metro account in Twitter reported that as of this month turnstiles coming from Iran will be installed in all subway stations, citing statements by the Minister of Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán.

Apparently, Velásquez Araguayán spoke about this on May 24 during a speech by President Nicolás Maduro, where he pointed out that since June the turnstiles made in Iran would be installed in all stations of the Caracas Metro, thanks to the agreements signed. .

“We have placed the turnstiles in test mode at this station, which as of June we will be installing at all stations, thanks to the agreements and conventions signed by the Islamic Republic of Iran,” said the Minister of Transport.

He specified on that occasion that, since the “Plan El Metro Se Mueve Contigo” began in September 2022, 28 stations have been enabled.

“In this first stage (…) today there are already 28 stations enabled with this same architecture, with the love that the workers, godfathers and godmothers of the institutions that accompany us have given it and we are going to phase two: the rehabilitation of all the rolling system, as you have requested, maintenance”, he stated.

Along with this, there is the T-Ticket card project, with which they plan to buy all kinds of tickets, including air tickets.

Already in 2022, the account metrocommunity He denounced the incident, saying that the Iranian turnstiles were lowered at the Miranda station and at La Hoyada “in the most rancid Egyptian style, as they possibly moved the stones of the pyramids.” They also wondered why they were installed independently if they were part of the same system and if they were compatible with current equipment, since the system was originally French and then Spanish trains were purchased.
