The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela condemned this Saturday the attempt to promote an armed insurrection in the Russian Federation, through terrorist methods.
This, after the Telegram channel of the founder of the private military company Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, published several audio recordings with accusations against the country’s military leaders.
Following this, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) opened a criminal case on a call for an armed riot. The FSB urged Wagner’s fighters not to obey Prigozhin’s orders and to take measures to arrest him.
Regarding this situation, Venezuela “in accordance with the principles of International Law, rejects any change of power or armed uprising by violent and unconstitutional means, as well as the use of external forces that bet on a civil war, attacking the sovereignty and self-determination of the Peoples, violating the political stability and social peace of the Russian Federation”.
