The OAS asked the government of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega this Friday to “cease all violations of human rights” and release political prisoners, during its annual assembly in Washington.
In a resolution adopted unanimously, the Organization of American States also demands that it refrain “from repressing and arbitrarily detaining leaders of the Catholic Church” and “rescind the rules” that allow depriving opponents of their nationality.
