USA confirmed as host of 32-team Club World Cup in 2025

The FIFA Council has unanimously designated the United States as the host of the new and expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup to be held in 2025, at its meeting held via videoconference from FIFA headquarters.

The host selection process took into account infrastructure and service requirements, as well as broader strategic goals for the tournament.

The decision was made based on the United States’ position as a proven leader in hosting world events and because it would allow FIFA to maximize synergies with the delivery of the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, to the benefit of both tournaments and the soccer development. in the North American region. As a next step, FIFA will work with relevant stakeholders to finalize the dates, venues and match schedule for this new tournament.

“The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will be the pinnacle of elite professional men’s club soccer, and with the necessary infrastructure coupled with strong local interest, the United States is the ideal host to kick off this new global tournament.” said. The allocation of slots by confederation and the key principles for access were already confirmed by the FIFA Council earlier this year.
