For Fedenaga it is gruesome that food is thrown away

The National Federation of Cattlemen of Venezuela (Fedenaga) described as “dantesque” the images that circulated in recent days, through social networks, in which various people are observed throwing food into the rivers claiming they do not have gasoline to take them to the places where they are sold.

“Perhaps the images are gruesome in a country with needs, but in the investigation we ask you to put yourself in the place of the humble farmer, because food is being lost in the fields because it cannot be taken to the markets, since there is no necessary fuel and the harvests do not wait” Fedenaga said in a statement asking the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, to hold a meeting to address this issue.

So far there are two detainees for this act, one in the state of Mérida and the other in Trujillo, who are accused of allegedly committing the economic crime of boycotting.

The first vice president of the PSUV, Diosdado Cabello, considered that “there is something political” behind the destruction of large amounts of food.
