Elective surgeries, at David Hospital, have not been suspended

Earlier, this Wednesday, June 21, a document was circulated announcing the suspension of elective surgeries at the Rafael Hernández Hospital, in David, Chiriquí, due to a lack of medicines and supplies. In response to this, the Social Security Fund clarified that in This hospital has not suspended these procedures.

According to the hospital’s medical director, Alfredo Lamie, in the last two weeks 89 elective surgeries have been performed, in addition to those of an urgent nature and other procedures, he added.

He indicated that the administration of the Hospital “Dr. Rafael Hernández» makes enormous efforts to have the necessary supplies to perform the surgeries
