Ambassador Maneiro delivered Letters of Credence to President Díaz-Canel

The ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Cuba, Orlando Maneiro Gaspar, delivered last Thursday his Credentials as representative of the country in the homeland of Martí and Fidel.

According to a press release from the Embassy of Venezuela in CubaManeiro’s Letters of Credence were received by the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, accompanied by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, during a session that took place at the Palace of the Revolution in Havana.

When welcoming the new Venezuelan ambassador to the island, the Cuban Head of State reiterated the support of the people and government for Venezuela to continue fulfilling the diplomatic mission entrusted by the Bolivarian Government.

Establish and strengthen relationships

The new ambassador Orlando Maneiro expressed his satisfaction for delivering his Credentials that accredit him as the representative of Venezuela in Cuba.

He highlighted the firm commitment and “conviction to work tirelessly to consolidate and strengthen the brotherly relations that unite us, under the principles of solidarity and complementarity promoted by Commanders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez, for the benefit of our Peoples.”

It is important to highlight that Orlando Maneiro has held important responsibilities both in the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and in the Bolivarian Government, among which are the Ministry of Popular Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture, and the General Command of the Bolivarian Navy.

He also had an outstanding career in the Venezuelan foreign service.

Venezuela–Cuba relations

Venezuela and Cuba maintain an exemplary and complementary alliance which has allowed them to promote development programs in the social and economic spheres, and which since its inception has served as a reference for the integration of the Latin American area.

Caracas and Havana have strengthened their ties of brotherhood and solidarity with the reinforcement of agreements and accompaniment in various matters of strategic cooperation.
