AN summons to integrate the Nominations Committee

AN installs Preliminary Commission to renew CNE rectors

Starting today, the National Assembly will receive the applications to form the Nominations Committee in charge of appointing the new authorities of the National Electoral Council.

According to the official notice (published on page 8 of this edition of ÚN), the National Assembly calls on society organizations and citizens on their own initiative to apply within a period of seven continuous days, counted from today, Monday, June 19, to integrate with the eleven deputies of the AN of the Preliminary Commission the Committee of Electoral Nominations 2023, which will select the lists of candidates to integrate the CNE board of directors.

The process that begins today will allow the application to elect the 10 representatives of civil society that must be part of the Nominations Committee.

“On Monday we have decided to call for applications so that these 10 citizens join the 11 deputies who already make up this preliminary commission, and thus constitute ourselves in the respective commission,” explained deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello.

The Nominations Committee will be in charge of receiving, studying and analyzing the profiles of the candidates nominated to govern the Electoral Power.
Although the resignation of the main rectors and substitutes was accepted by the National Assembly, the main rector of the CNE, Pedro Calzadilla, stressed that they will remain in their functions until their substitutes are appointed.
