With criticism of corruption, political persecution, injustice and drug trafficking in the country, various leaders from Santa Cruz responded to the words expressed by President Luis Arce. Last Friday, the president stated that in Santa Cruz exists bullying and physical assaults as an alternative to lack of ideas. From social networks, Fernando Larach, president of the Committee for Santa Cruz and former civic presidents Rómulo Calvo and Luis Fernando Camacho, respond to Arce.

“We know your plan for the country; a plan that includes persecution, political prisoners and manipulation of justice; In addition, unproductive state companies, corruption in the ministries, increase in smuggling, increase in drug trafficking. Is that the plan you want to talk about? No thanks! ”, Larach wrote on his social networks.

Last Friday, Arce met with the interculturals of the department of Santa Cruz, regarding its 54th anniversary and in his speech he stated:

“There is bullying here, in Santa Cruz; They don’t want to discuss politically and they go to blowsthey go to the attacks and that simply reveals that there are no ideas to discuss,” said the national authority.

In addition, he challenged the authorities of the department. “We have to discuss, that they have the courage, that they have the courage to sit at a table and discuss who has the best idea to build our apartment in Santa Cruz,” he proposed.

The words caused annoyance in Santa Cruz and various civic leaders, both current and past, came to the fore.

Calvo, also through his social networks, published his response. “Do not get wrong… Santa Cruz has always had bravery and courage, and not only to “discuss” (debate), but to analyze, propose and build. This can still be done, but not under threats, political persecution and apprehensions unfair, but governing in a balanced way for all Bolivians, at a table where all departments participate.

Since his preventive confinement in the Chonchocoro prison, the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, not only invited him to visit him to talk, but also criticized his management.

“While the country is sinking into corruption and drug trafficking, Luís Arce has the nerve to continue attacking the department that sustains the country’s economy, production and food security. Mr. Arce, for the good of Bolivia, I invite you to visit me in the cell where I you have me kidnapped to explain to him what his stubbornness does not let him understand, the reasons for the success of the Cruceño Productive Model and the causes of the failure of his statist model,” Camacho said.

Larach, went further and raised various issues to discuss at the table proposed by the president:

“The debate that the people of Santa Cruz are looking for prioritizes the development and well-being of the country. Let’s talk about reform justice so that it is independent; of productive systems to promote work; health and education to care for the people; citizen security for our families; solidarity integration between all regions. Without neglecting the need to sincerely and objectively review the relationship of the regions with the state. On those bases, whenever and wherever you want!” she shared.

The current civic president thus includes one of the resolutions raised in the massive town hall on January 10 when Calvo proposed rethinking the relationship between Santa Cruz and the State.

Calvo also presented his proposals. Currently, he faces more than a dozen judicial processes, which he has described as political persecution, on various occasions.

“What must be built (and we have already been doing it) is a free and democratic Bolivia, where production, education, investments are encouraged and these are legally guaranteed. That health, the fight against corruption, drug trafficking and legal uncertainty be a priority; This is how we set the table,” Calvo said.

And, in his farewell, Camacho did not miss the opportunity to talk about his imprisonment in the case called ‘Golpe I’, and told Arce: “You will understand that in times of dictatorship we have to talk in a jail and not at one of the overpriced tables that you bought when you were Minister of the Economy under Evo Morales”.
