“These conferences, if the first lady continues to lend us her facilities, will continue until we control the increase in cases of influenza and there are no more deaths from this disease,” reported Itzel de Hewitt, coordinator of the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI). ).
Hewitt explained that, “Equally from Monday to Friday, people can attend all Health facilities throughout the country” and added that there are sufficient doses of reserves in each Health region. “We can report that, in all regions, there is a stock of over 25,000 doses in each one, so there is no shortage and no one should be left without getting vaccinated.”
He reported that, in the last two weeks, the influx of people has increased, since more than 45 thousand doses have been applied. “In the first week, we had 25,000 doses applied and in the second about 30,000” and they have been applied, above 667,800 doses throughout the country.
Hewitt highlighted the support of the private sector and reported that, as with Covid vaccines, private hospitals and clinics are vaccinating the population for free, once or twice a week.
He reiterated that “take your parents, children and relatives to get vaccinated, since vaccines help save lives.”
