Tellechea affirms that in June production will close to close to 900,000 b/d

Pedro Rafael Tellechea, Minister of Petroleum and President of PDVSA, stated from Monagas state that at the end of June, crude oil production will close at almost 900,000 barrels per day, that is, 43% more than last January.

The oil minister and president of PDVSA, Pedro Rafael Tellechea, said this Friday, June 16, from the state of Monagas, that crude oil production has increased significantly since last January. He assured that this month the figure for daily barrels will end very close to 900,000, which would represent an increase of 43% compared to the beginning of 2023.

«I want you to see how we received the situation of Petróleos de Venezuela in January. We come from 630 thousand barrels per day and today thanks to you (the workers) we can say that we are above 850 thousand barrels per day, this is now official. The hope for this month (June) is that we will close at almost 900,000 barrels per day, So, yes we are working,” he said.

Last Tuesday, May 9, Tellechea presented the «Comprehensive Productive Recovery Plan (PRIP)» of Pdvsa for the period from May to December 2023 and, among other aspects, plans to reach the production goal of 1 million b/d. The last time PDVSA managed to reach this figure was in December 2021, however, since then it began to decline until it remained at an average of 750,000 b/d.

Tellechea also reported from Punta de Mata in Monagas that 400 cisterns and chutos were acquired to distribute fuel. “We have not rested, we have worked 24 hours a day. We are going to have all our distillers available to be able to continue operating the fuel that moves us in Venezuela.”

In a meeting with workers from the oil sector, he indicated that all the oil areas are being strengthened and asked for all the support to advance “in the rebirth of the national oil class.”

He announced a Pilot Plan for the Health System of pdvsa to care for workers and their families. “We come to plan to execute exactly what the workers need without errors,” said Tellechea.

“I have been visiting all the operational areas and from there we have found out about all the situations we have, we have already started with a full deployment of health needs and we will have our pilot plan on the 26th, you will see the results,” he said. .
