“In order to contribute to the noble objective of national commitment, headed towards economic prosperity and political and social stability, we have put our positions at the order of the National Assembly (AN) so that it is the Legislative Power that, once again , designate a National Electoral Council (CNE) that represents the aspirations of the democratic sectors of the Venezuelan people,” announced the president of the electoral entity, Pedro Calzadilla.

From the headquarters of the National Electoral Council in Plaza Caracas, Calzadilla expressed that as an organization, electoral processes of peace and tranquility have been guaranteed for all the Venezuelan people, therefore, “Venezuela is starting a new electoral cycle of special importance, whose first election is the presidential one, with foundations based on dialogue”.

Calzadilla expressed that the current rectors and alternates will continue to exercise their functions as CNE authorities until Parliament has a new designation. “To the workers, our gratitude, pride and commitment. We are the Homeland forged by the liberators, we bet on the country’s democracy”, highlighted Calzadilla.
In this sense, for this Thursday, June 15, the National Assembly (AN) will debate the resignation of the main rectors and substitutes of the National Electoral Council (CNE), according to the proposal of the Agenda, in which it must appoint a new Nominations Committee to search for new members of the Electoral Power.
