President Luis Arce affirmed that the “revolutionary unity” is stronger than everafter having met in the past few hours with the leadership of the Single Union Confederation of Peasant Workers of Bolivia (CSUTCB).
“In the Casa Grande del Pueblo we met with the Executive Committee of the glorious Single Trade Union Confederation of Peasant Workers of Bolivia. This new expression of unity emerges in the midst of a new chapter of “division” carried out by different actors from the Movimiento Al Socialismo (MAS), the party in charge of the Government, who were even accused of alleged attempts to attack the life of former President Evo Morales or alleged plans to expel President Arce from the ranks of said political organization .
On Monday, the councilor of Cochabamba for the MAS Joel Flores I speak of an alleged “black plan” that ex-president Morales would have to expel from the ruling party, through a congress, President Arce, Vice President David Choquehuanca and even the President of the Senate, Andrónico Rodríguez.
On Tuesday, the vice president of the MAS, Gerardo García, reported that a national expansion of this organization will be held on June 22 in Cochabamba and announced that Designated public officials will not be allowed to participate.
García accused Arce of betraying the MAS, said that “he became the worst enemy of the political instrument” and also spoke of an alleged attempt on the life of Morales.
“We are very sorry that our president, instead of being grateful, (…) is persecuting and attempting the life of our brother Evo Morales,” García said.
However, on Wednesday, the Minister of the Presidency, María Nela Prada, rejected “firmly and fully (…) regarding the alleged poisoning that it is being organized at the behest of the Government (…) to attempt the life of the president of the MAS”.
The minister emphasized that “the only poison is division and that all these attempts to divide the popular movement,” in her opinion, can cause irreversible damage to the continuity of the “process of change.”
Likewise, Prada assured that Arce he was “here in the hardest moments to raise from the ashes” this political instrument and that all the accusations against the president “They are setting up a scenario” to expel him from MAS.
However, on Thursday, the former president and leader of the MAS replied that “the inner rightwho has a plan to ‘destroy Evo’, attacks the leadership of the MAS-IPSP and divides our organizations with perks, talks about unity and tries to victimize himself”.
