The month of June in Chile brings with it the opportunity to enjoy two holidays, ideal for taking a well-deserved rest and enjoying various activities. These two holidays are separated by a few days on the calendar, which allows planning different scenarios, one of them being long weekend.
However, it is important to note that they are not considered inalienable, which means that most businesses will maintain their normal business hours. The first of the holidays is the National Day of the Indigenous Peoples, which is celebrated on the 21st of June.
This year it falls on a Wednesday, which can be an excellent opportunity to organize family outings or enjoy a well-deserved rest. It should be noted that this celebration was instituted in June of 2021, so this will be the third year that it is commemorated.
The second holiday of June takes place on the 26th and is the feast of Saint Peter and Saint Paul. On this occasion, the holiday is moved to the following Monday, which will give rise to a new long weekend for the enjoyment of Chileans. It is a perfect opportunity to take trips, visit relatives or simply relax and enjoy recreational activities.
Although these are the remaining holidays in the month of June, throughout the year there are still more days to rest and enjoy special moments. Some of the upcoming holidays include the Day of the Virgen del Carmen on July 16, the Assumption of the Virgin on August 15, the celebration of the First National Government Board on September 18 (unwaivable), the Day of Glories of the Army on September 19 (unwaivable), the Encounter of Two Worlds on October 9, the Day of the Evangelical and Protestant Churches on October 27, All Saints’ Day on November 1, the Immaculate Conception on December and Christmas on December 25 (unavoidable).
