Cuban hero: Alex Saab case violates all international laws

The Cuban hero, René González, stressed this Thursday that the kidnapping of diplomat Alex Saab violates all international laws.

During his participation in the session of the National Assembly (AN), González indicated that in the United States (USA) his due process is being violated and they intend to subject him to the same practices that he – and the other Cuban heroes – suffered during his prison in the North American country.

“In the case of Alex Saab all international laws were violated. Alex Saab had not set foot on American territory, he was kidnapped. Taken to the US by force, kidnapped in the US and under that chain of violations of due process, they are trying to subject him to the same privations and they want to make him pay for the crimes of defending Venezuelans,” said González.

In this sense, he stated that it is necessary for the Free Alex Saab movement to multiply and he assured that the pressure could force the US to release him.

“This movement can multiply and has the potential to eliminate and resonate around the world until the pressure forces the empire to release Alex Saab,” he stressed.

In this regard, he asserted that at this time, the case of the Venezuelan diplomat is in the “manipulation of evidence” phase, with the sole objective of leaving him kidnapped in the North American country.

“The case of Alex Saab can sensitize all people (…) We have to prevent Alex Saab from going to trial,” he stressed.

He emphasized that the statement made this Thursday by the AN it could serve as a fundamental tool to raise awareness in the world and join the campaign for his release.
