In an incendiary editorial published last Sunday in the daily The country, Pedro Bordaberryhe plugged the criticism keyboard into his computer and outlined a glossary of considerations against broad frontfocusing on Yamandu Orsi. For the former right-wing leader from Colorado, the left-wing coalition is looking for a candidate for the next elections “who speaks similar to the people of the interior.”
“Is it enough to talk similarly or do we have to deal with internal problems? Of agriculture, of services that did not reach populations far from the capital, of work. Those who were forgotten for fifteen years, ”he assured, adding that the interior“ gave an electoral romp ”to the FA.
Without mentioning him, he refers to Orsi for being born and raised in a rural area of Canelones, whom he considers to have a particular accent. But the mayor of Canelones -and a highly preferred candidate in the FA- took the hint and replied harshly.

“I was born and raised in the interior of Canelones, I grew up in the 3 Esquinas neighborhood, I went to 110, I lived and worked in my parents’ store, I traveled every day to study and I was a teacher. Nothing makes me feel more proud than continuing to have roots in the interior. That is Uruguay too”, Orsi published on Twitter, while citing a press release that spoke of the subject.
Recently, Pedro Bordaberry re-registered your sector “Let’s go uruguay” within the Colorado Party, a political force from which he had left to dedicate himself to the soccer leadership and his private businesses.
The formal request signed by Bordaberry and delivered to the PC requests authorization to use the motto of the Colorado Party with the sub-mottos Let’s go Uruguay, let’s go Colorados and let’s go Batillistas.
