Putin meets with Marrero and announces strategic crusade against the US “blockade”.

MIAMI, United States. — The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, met this Wednesday with the Prime Minister of the Cuban regime, Manuel Marrero Cruz, and assured that he will offer help to the Caribbean country to circumvent the embargo imposed by the United States.

Review the state agency Latin Press that during the meeting, held in the Kremlin, the Russian ruler “emphasized the special, allied and long-term nature of bilateral ties, and affirmed that Russia has a special relationship with Cuba,” which he described as “the Island of freedom”.

“In Russia we have a special relationship with the Island of Liberty, it always has been and still is.”

According to the official media, “Putin stressed that relations between Moscow and Havana are developing despite the complexities of today, in key sectors such as energy, tourism, among others.”

Regarding the embargo imposed by the United States against the Cuban regime, the Russian boss made it clear that his country “is committed to helping the Island face the obstacles imposed” by that policy, in force since 1962.

“We know about the illegal sanctions under which Cuba has lived for decades. However, the Cuban people are overcoming them. For our part, we will do everything possible so that our economic cooperation helps to overcome these difficulties imposed from abroad,” said the president.

Latin Press It highlights that the meeting between Putin and Marrero closes the official visit of the Castro Prime Minister to Moscow, “where he has developed exchanges with State and Government authorities.”

Marrero will remain in Russia until June 17. The last stop on your agenda will be the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The visit of the high-ranking Cuban official to Russia has been described as strategic by the Havana regime. During his stay in the Eurasian giant, Marrero has sealed important agreements of a political and commercial nature that reinforce the Russian presence in the Caribbean country.
